CREDIT ASSISTANT – MONITORING AND RECOVERY – 2 Vacancies

Sheria Sacco Society Limited wishes to recruit a competent individual to fill the position of Credit Assistant. This position will be based in the Nairobi Head Office.

Term: one (1) year contract, renewable upon satisfactory performance on appraisal.

Role Summary

Reporting to the General Manager, the job holder will be responsible for contacting members with non-performing loan accounts (Substandard, Doubtful, and Loss) and informing them of their debt and their various options for repayment

 Key Tasks & Responsibilities
  1. Locate and contact clients, primarily over the phone, in order to talk with them about their debts. This includes contacting members through email and cell phones
  2. Contact members to negotiate payment plans and payment schedules that suit their current financial situation while still satisfying the debt.
  3. Advise members on their various payment If no payment agreement can be reached, collections officers inform members of further actions that may be taken to collect overdue debts.
  4. Maintain and update delinquent member files, record times and dates that contact has been made, and note information that customers have received about their debt.
  5. Writing letters to members informing them of their overdue debts and issuing recovery
  6. Contact guarantors of loanees whose loans are overdue and not collectible to inform them of the defaulted guaranteed liabilities and available options for them to honor their obligation.
  7. Where members fail to meet their payment obligations and fail to make payment agreements, the officer writes letters to the members’ employers, debt collectors, and lawyers to collect debt.
  8. Liaising with the Loan Recoveries and Monitoring officer in preparing statements to be given to external parties such as lawyers, auctioneers, credit reference bureaus, and debt collectors when members fail to meet their payment agreements or when no payment agreement can be made.
  9. Offering financial counsel and remedial actions to delinquent facilities.
  10. Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
 QUALIFICATIONS AND ROLE SPECIFICATIONS.
1.     Academic Qualifications
  1. Diploma in Co-operative Management/Banking/Business Management/Accounting or CPA Part 1 Section 2.
  2. Must have a minimum mean grade of KCSE C
2.     Experience

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a busy financial services environment.

    RECORDS ASSISTANT – 1 Vacancy.

    Sheria Sacco Society Limited wishes to recruit a competent individual to fill the position of Records Assistant. This position will be based in the Nairobi Head Office.

    Role Summary

    Reporting to the Senior Records Officer, the role will be responsible for providing support in the effective management of the archives and records function in the Society. In addition, the job holder is responsible for ensuring that the Sacco records and documents are digitized, organized, and easily accessible.

     Duties & Responsibilities
    1. Assist in collecting, reviewing, assessing, and disseminating Sacco’s Records/information, correspondence, and other documentation.
    2. Maintaining electronic and required paper archives of all existing and subsequent
    3. Organizing paper or electronic files, tracking them electronically, to include information and document indexing, scanning, labeling, bar coding, and
    4. Receiving and sorting Saccos’ data in paper and electronic format, including, but not limited to, records of transactions, correspondence, and department documentation.
    5. Open Members’ files in consultation with the Head of Department.
    6. Data entry.
    7. File all members’ documentation, letters, statements, and loan forms
    8. Maintain a record of all files
    9. Maintain the membership register, registration of new members, and updating of the register against any withdrawals and new entries
    10. Safe-keeping of society’s newspapers, magazines, and journals
    11. Process deceased members, maintain and update the register
    12. Creation of loan documentation through sharing loan applications.
    13. Avail files for loan applicants to the loans officer/Credit Committee
    14. Keep track of file movement
    15. Perform any other duty assigned.
     QUALIFICATIONS AND ROLE SPECIFICATION

    1. Minimum of a Diploma in Records Management or Information
    2. KCSE C or its recognized
    2.     Experience

    Minimum of 1 year of experience in Records Management in preferably financial space.

    1. Communication and interpersonal skills
    2. Familiarity with uninvolved, standardized work procedure
    3. Organization Skills

    5. Data entry proven experience, as well as keyboarding and accuracy.
